PS Vita Bounties 2025 Rebirth

PS Vita Bounties are back in 2025 and with it the possibility of many new amazing ports :-)
Yes PS Vita Bounties are back and even You can create one right now. Many comrades have already created one, you can see all them right here. In short, there are 7 bounties as of the time of writing of this article - Majora's Mask $90, Titan Quest $120, Gun Bros $70, StarFox64 $10, Neighbours from Hell $40, Star Warfare 1/2 $75, The Force Engine $50
The odds of any of these happening are very favourable, because the bounties were created after consultation with the developers. Well, all the odds are favourable except one - The Force Engine. It seems to be bit more tricky then we initially thought. The engine uses OpenGL 3.3 and one would need to write an GLES2 renderer for it first, which is exactly as it sounds, not trivial at all.
But back to the favourable odds. I am 100% certain they are favourable because we have got the best developers from the scene on the board
Rinnegatamante - The most active person on the PS Vita homebrew scene with countless amazing creations. He is still very active and he is interested
Gl33ntwine - another great mind behind a lot of very demanding ports - Dead Space Mobile, Mass Effect Infiltrator.. Not as active anymore but I have contacted him and he said he would be interested in a nice bounty
PatnosD - One of the developers that is doing Unity Engine ports. He started simple but he finished with some impossible ports including Hollow Knight or Cuphead. He has also recently stepped down from the scene but he also replied to me that he would be interested in a nice bounty
Hatoving - Another important figure from the Unity front with Geometry Dash or This World Ends with You behind his belt
There are more capable developers on the scene but the interest of aforementioned ones is guaranteed.
PS Vita bounties are after the end of ReiHEN PS Vita Homebrew Contest another great way to increase the interest of developers in any of the given port. As you may know, many of them are creating ports that they would want to play, not that we would want to play, therefore I think bounties are the essential part of this community, because it dramatically increases the chances of the given port to realistically happen.
And exactly because of this I decided to create a brand new bounty for the game that I would want to play on my PS Vita - AvP Evolution. It is a 3rd person hack and slash game, you can play as a predator or alien and it is set in an AvP universe. It is an old school mobile game, it is not perfect but it has nice graphics, plus I am a big fan of AvP in general, therefore I have thrown at it $30 (after confirming feasibility with the dev) :-)
I know it is not much, but the probability is now definitely more than 0 and if it is not that demanding, it might actually happen. If you also want to see your favourite port to happen, I would say the bounty is a way to go. If you won't make a bounty and the port hasn't happened until now, the odds are not in your favour that it happens in the future.
Take Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies as an example. Lot of people want to see the PS Vita port. This recent comment even received 26 likes under my post and do you know what ? There is still no bounty for it = 0% chance it is coming. Why? Because the devs just doesn't like this game
I told the guy who made it that a bounty is a way to go. His answer? ''My max is $10 but that's too low and even $10 is kinda too much for an old android game''. If this is also your mindset just say goodbye to the good old CoD Black Ops Zombies PS Vita port. Is my $30 too much or too low for AvP Evolution? I think it is exactly the amount that needs to be there. It is an active bounty and that is what matters. What comes next is in Gods hands
